A non-residential, instrumental music course to be held in the beautiful surroundings of St Teresa’s School in the Surrey Hills

COURSE REGISTRATION at 9.45 am on TUESDAY 11th April
Course Director – Caroline Yalden

Assisted by a team of specialist instrumental teachers
Open to children from Year 3 to Year 9
The course is suitable for players from Grade 1 up to Grade 6.
Applications for the course are invited from players of the following instruments:

  • Violin
  • Viola
  • Cello
  • Double Bass
  • Flute
  • Oboe
  • Clarinet
  • Alto Saxophone
  • Tenor Saxophone
  • Bassoon
  • Trumpet
  • French Horn
  • Trombone
  • Euphonium
  • Drum Kit and Orchestral Percussion

Pianists who have passed Grade 1 or above and would like to play percussion are also invited to apply.
Parents of children who play other instruments should contact the school before applying.

The programme will include:

  • String Orchestra
  • Swing/Jazz Band
  • Full Orchestra Rehearsals
  • Sectional Rehearsals
  • General Musicianship
  • Recreational Time

The Final concert will be held on Friday 14th April at 4.00pm in Mairlot Hall, St Teresa’s School

All friends, family and teachers are invited to attend the concert.

A variety of music will be prepared for the final concert at the end of the course.

Solo concerts will also be organised giving participants the opportunity to perform a prepared piece with an accompanist to a friendly audience.

Students are asked to provide their own packed lunch each day.
Soft drinks and biscuits will be provided.
All staff aim to share their enthusiasm and enjoyment for music whilst helping young musicians to develop their abilitie.
