Significant long-term investment has endowed St Teresa’s Effingham and Cranmore with a broad range of high-quality sports facilities, with tennis one of the main beneficiaries.
ESTA has its headquarters at St Teresa’s, where it is based in its own separate building, a former locker room which is undergoing a complete transformation to become a spacious, bright, modern clubhouse, equipped as necessary to function effectively as a proper training facility with its own changing rooms and showers. Three hard-surface courts sit adjacent to ESTA ‘HQ’ in a truly delightful position on the edge of the school campus, bordered on two sides by a picturesque backdrop of attractive and colourful trees. The proximity to HQ provides excellent and efficient transition between practical and theoretical tuition, and facilitates discrete monitoring.
Directly opposite the school’s main Reception, a large, all-weather surface provides additional space for team practise and fitness activities. Adjacent to these, a further hard-surface court completes the picture. The opportunity to play on both artificial and hard surfaces provides our students with valuable experience in understanding how they, and the ball, perform in different environments.
At Cranmore there are four brand new artificial courts, and the pupils of both schools are welcome to play tennis on either site.
